Do You Have the Assurance that Jesus Christ Lives in You?
Understanding
The first step in gaining the assurance that Jesus Christ lives in you is to understand that man was created with an inner capacity for Christ to live in him. The Bible describes this capacity by telling us that man is composed of three parts:
"Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely;
and may your spirit and
soul and body
be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ." 1 Thessalonians 5:23
The human spirit is the place in man where Christ comes to live:
"The Lord who...forms the spirit of man
within him." Zechariah 12:1
"The one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him." 1 Corinthians 6:17
"That which is born of the Spirit is spirit." John 3:6
"The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit." 2 Timothy 4:22
"The one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him." 1 Corinthians 6:17
"That which is born of the Spirit is spirit." John 3:6
"The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit." 2 Timothy 4:22
When you receive Christ, He enters directly into your spirit and you are born again.
